Nuneaton Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary - Animal Sanctuary - Portfolio

Dusk and Dawn were picked up by a member of public who thought they were dog pups. After been taken to a dog rescue centre and being identified as fox cubs they were brought to us.

Every thing was going really well with rearing them until they reached five weeks old.

At five weeks old they both turned a creamy colour then with in a week they went pure white, we have never come across this before so sought advise from a few vets. Three different vets came to the conclusion that they must be crossed with something and therefore cannot be released to the wild, again we were left with a decision of keeping them and giving them a happy life or having them put to sleep... It didn’t take us long to decide that we were going to keep them.

They went through a total of 5 colours before finally turning a fox colour at six months old.

They are very healthy and very happy, have been spayed and have all the injections a dog has (parvovirus, distemper etc).

They eat dog biscuits mixed dog meat and have vegetables twice a week with their food.

Testimonials
"We have had a very supportive experience with Nuneaton Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary when we tried our hand at fostering a dog. It is quite amazing to me that some people work so hard to rescue an animal. The compassion that drives the group to put so much commitment in running a rescue organization, is truly noble in deed and intent. I couldn't be happier. Thank you both very much"

“ Nuneaton Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary a non-profit organization, takes these animals in to foster homes, where they are loved, socialized and recieve vet treatment. They are spayed or neutered before being adopted; thus preventing the cycle of unwanted animals, filling animal shelters to overflowing, and continuing the practice of euthanizing animals in overburdened shelters.

I find it very rewarding to play a small part in seeing these "throwaways" become someone's best friend, and grow up to lead a happy and rewarding life. ”
